A dental bridge is a false tooth, known as a “pontic”, which is fused between two or more crowns to fill in the area left by a missing tooth. The two crowns that hold the “pontic” in place are known as the “abutments”. These abutments are crowned teeth prepared the same way as we describe on our crown services page.
This is known as a fixed bridge. A superior option to that of a “partial” or “removable denture”, fixed bridges do not have to be removed daily, do not trap food like a denture is prone to do, and are a more “lifelike” alternative for your mouth..
